Merck – Employer Branding

  • Paul Taggart

An employer branding campaign celebrating 50,000 original Merck colleagues...

Merck used to be one, global pharmaceutical company. However, during World War I, the American part of the company was nationalised, resulting in two seperate companies.... Merck & Co. and Merck–the latter being the original from Darmstadt, Germany.

With very similar names, it's no surprise that the industry, media and employees sometimes mix them up. So, to set the record straight we created a fun employer branding campaign–headlined by a dynamic mascot and fitting soundtrack.
Employees from across the globe visited a microsite to share what made them proud, to be an original Merck.
Smart, brave and curious, campaign mascot (Felix the frog) embodies all the qualities of an original Merck!
An interactive map showed employees–and external audiences–where original Mercks can be found.
The map allowed visitors to find out which services Merck offers in different countries.
Over 50,000 branded booklets and stickers were distributed to employees and partners gloablly.
Employee submissions were spread to external audienes via organic and sponsored Facebook posts.
