Metamorphosis: Arsène Wenger

  • Vivek Borkhataria
The original book of Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka is about a travelling salesman who one day wakes up to find himself turned into an insect, the story then turns to the worst for him and with no support or sympathy from his own family he passes away one morning and the family just carry on with their life.
My interpretation of this resulted in a few themes that relate in today’s society like, cut throat corporate world and ageism. I then looked at the career of Arsene Wenger at Arsenal, and with his career split into two decades of one being a triumph and the other a struggling uphill battle a lot of clear and parallel connections were found. Therefore I designed a tobloid style newspaper to illustrate one side a dicpiction of the story and on the right side the relevant timelines moment of Arsene Wenger’s metamorphosis career.
