Migration

  • George Reynolds

This book was made for my final major project at University. I wanted to explore the issues of pollution and a dying planet; one with no humans, only the waste and ruin they left behind. With a lonely flock of birds being the only life captured in the narrative, they navigate the reader through the desolate landscape as they migrate across the ruined world, they’ve sadly inherited. Using a traditional method of illustration, I aimed to capture the sensibility of the narrative by using photo realism and a muted blue palette to emphasise the melancholy within the illustrations. I aim to evoke an emotional response in the reader; and hope they question whether their own actions are contributing to likelihood of this bleak future or helping to avoid it.
