In summary:
A Moroccan Jewish celebration of music, food and fortune, influenced by a tapestry of North African folk tradition, a Kurdish Jewish Spring festival, and traceable all the way back to the ancient Barley harvest festival of Akitu. In many towns and villages in North Africa, Jewish people would invite their Muslim neighbours to sing, feast and bless together.

The event is brimming with a combination of meaningful moments and top-quality music, kicking off with storytellers Jumana Moon & Adele Moss, who travel the country together enchanting audiences with tales from their ancestral cultures, followed by the chance for guests to create a decorative Mimouna table and learn about traditional customs with Ma'ayan.
From 6.30pm, music will take over, with a WOMAD-worthy line up of artists. Nana - a 4-piece all female Muslim hip-hop collective, Gnawa Manchester - bringing the hypnotic rhythms of Morocco's most ancient folk music, and 3yin [pronounced eye-yin] playing song & dance tunes from Jewish North African, Arabic & Sephardi communities, in a set created especially for Mimouna London.  Expertly uniting these strands of activity, are hosts, Rachel Rose Reid and Rakin Niass.
