Miss Deauvoir's 'Sorry not Sorry'

  • Stephanie Evelyn Blundell

Plot: A participatory, Feminist, Cabaret show & dinner set in the 1930's EVERYONE knows what a pair of breasts look like. They are bell shape, sometimes brown, sometimes pink, sometimes pierced, sometimes small, sometimes large, sometimes removed and always with a few hairs. Last week, Miss De Beauvoir's curtain broke. The interim model was pretty shit, it was made from a piece of red velvet cloth and hung by two stolen clothes pegs. Naturally, the cloth fell down when Miss De Beauvoir was getting changed. This resulted in the exhibiting of her two lovely breasts followed by a string of compliant letters from the Neighbours. In response Miss De Beauvoir would like to 'not apologize' to the letter writers by inviting them over for an intimate Cabaret show & dinner. --------- For many women, apologies are inexorably linked with our conception of politeness. Somehow, as we grew into adults, “sorry” became an entry point to basic affirmative sentences. ----------- This is an immersive and participatory evening with dress up, games, music and food. Please feel free to bring fun props and dress to the era. YOU MUST ARRIVE ON TIME. Sorry!
