Mockup for Magazine Cover Contest

The PIER Magazine has approached the Arts University Illustration students to create a personal Summer edition cover for the newest issue. This is one of the Potential pieces that features Cicadas. This year is a special year for Cicadas as this summer will be a special occurrence of a double brood emergence. Both the 13 year and 17 year cycle groups will make an appearance this summer, an event that hasn't taken place since 1803. In honor of this event, the nostalgic sound, and cicada shells scattered about at home I wanted to tell my personal stories of summers growing up in the southern U.S.
