Multicultural London English is a typographic exploration into the hybrid dialect sweeping its way across London and the UK. Otherwise known as street slang, MLE is evolving rapidly with the help of the music genre, grime, and the
rise in technology.
Each publication consists of a grime track by either Skepta or Akala and has been translated into proper English. The original lyrics, spoken in MLE, begin overlapping and taking over the English language.
The publications serve to highlight and educate an unknowledgeable audience on the raw energy, aggression and passion of the East London born language. Alongside the concept of an evolving language is a series of definitions, etymologies and facts.
