Mushroom Research UK

Mushroom Research UK looks to make broadleaved woodland thinning a more economically viable process, by creating a range of eco-friendly mushroom products from the wood harvested during thinning. Mushroom Research UK will use wood for good, growing mushrooms from the logs in order to create biodegradable packaging. Through a partnership with Amazon, the company would raise funds to help further research into alternative eco-friendly mushroom products, which in turn would ensure the UK’s ancient woodlands are managed sustainably. An educational newspaper highlighting the work of Mushroom Research UK, as well as the importance of good woodland management, would be sent to schools to educate the younger generation about looking after the UK’s forests. The newspaper would also be sent to corporations in order to encourage them to change their products and become more eco-friendly organisations.
