My first workshop with Write Club!

  • Anick Soni FRSA

Last Monday, I went to Shoreditch Works for a Write Club session. It was held by Matt Maude and Susanna Davies-Crook. The guest speaker, Richard Kwietniowski, led us through an exercise after sharing his career journey. Here is my first ever attempt at writing an opening scene! "UNRAVELLED"   FADE IN:   EXT. CAR PARK  BRITISH COUNTRYSIDE - NIGHT   An old English pub, "The Last Drop" nestled between green and browning bushes. No one around. Indiscernible music plays in background.   A restored 2-seater car is illuminated under a streetlight that flickers.   INT. CAR - CONTINUOUS     ARUN sits silently, gazing out of the windshield. Beside him, MASON, the driver, one hand on the wheel, and the other placed on ARUN's thigh.   ARUN looks as if the air has been cut off inside the car.   MASON moves his hand from ARUN'S thigh and turns the dial on the stereo. Music cuts off.   MASON "Can we listen to something good now?"
