MYTHICAL BIRD | Emese Takács

This project was about creating a new animal, and its fur. I made a mythological bird, which lives in Thailand and reigns over the weather. The two kinds of fur represent the bird’s mood, when it’s angry the fur is full of water and it’s getting rougher, he can destroy villages with flooding. When it’s happy, the fur is shiny and smooth. Technique: The angry one is made with felting, with pre dyed felt, and sewed on a felt sheet one by one. The kind one is made with coloured leather stripes and sewed with a machine on a strong weaved cotton fabric.
