A collaborative effort between the MA students of Fashion Design and Wearable Futures in the research and exploration of technical methods and application of 3D printing within textiles as a means of mending garments.
Inspired by the Japanese philosophy of Kintsugi, which is to mend that which is broken with gold and silver and thus adding value to the object after it is damaged. Incorporating 3D printing on textile and traditional methods of mending such as darning as a means to feature the damage on the garments as opposed to concealing it. This method is designed to be open sourced and is supposrted by the DIY community.
