THE GRADUATE COLLECTION
As a weave and print textile designer my style is eclectic; with an underlying objective of producing unique and luxurious outcomes, using a combination of traditional and experimental methods.
The basis of this collection was inspired by clashing concepts in nature, challenging the perception of beauty, commonality and quality. Influencers included artist Deanna Pethabridge, along with Elsa Schiaparelli for her pioneering work in womens wear. These along with my contrasting elements of nature, provided a strong reference to material choice and design structure.
Unconventional materials, illusion and the question of beauty were challenged, placing value on the overlooked in conjunction with the traditionally luxurious. The samples below highlight the essence of the collection, and were designed to push the boundaries of what luxury is.
