New Designer's London Design Fair Associate Prize Winners

  • David Hodge

Longstanding supporters of the freshest design industry talent, this year we took to New Designer's once again to select our two Associate Prize winners. With sustainability the driving force behind our choices, we awarded our annual Associate Prize to two brands championing the cause in two very different industries.

WEEK 1: SIT STILL STUDIO
Designed and made in Wales Sit Still Studio design and manufacture distinctly playful pieces. Employing Welsh makers and manufacturing with organic sheep's wool and locally sourced Ash, the brand prides themselves on production methods that embody their design process: "honest, local and decidedly not trend led; favouring a timeless and enduring aesthetic."
WEEK TWO: HIGH SOCIETY
Hemp, wine and tobacco: fairly unconventional material choices for lighting. Italian-based High Society specialise in plant-based lighting, the materials taken from industrial waste streams and hydroformed to create shades. To top it off, each light sold supports initiatives against drug dependency in collaboration Forum Prevention in Bolzano.
