NEW DESIGNERS 2020 - NORWICH UNIVERSITY OF THE ARTS: BA (Hons) Textile Design

Graduates of the BA Textile Design course at Norwich University of the Arts are proficient at creative and practical challenges relating to the textiles industry and beyond. Their skills and experiences are showcased through professional portfolios to communicate their individual creative personality and ambition. Throughout the course, our students have undertaken design challenges to provide solutions for fashion and interior contexts while considering issues such as wellbeing, branding and market levels, client profiling, material innovation and sustainability. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The graduates of 2020 have explored their practices in relation to industry competitions and placements while underpinning their practices with research across a range of contemporary issues such as cultures and traditions, femininity, injustice, traditional craft and environmental issues. They have undertaken a live brief in BA3 offering exciting fabric proposals to the airline industry, working with the staff at Mirus Aircraft Seating, realising design ideas through print, knit, weave and embroidery processes. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ These graduates' final collections evidence their passion, flair and individual relationships with the world they live in - and that world has tested them like no other year group - we are proud to present the class of 2020 at New Designers 2020!
