New MusicVideo "Sunflower" inspired by the life of Vincent van Gogh

  • A. N. Zoey Stein

„Sunflower“ transports us into the golden hour of the late afternoon and, in contrast to all other songs of the album, "Tropical World" it is not about Sora’s conceptual world. Unconsciously, I wrote this song about Vincent van Gogh. I only realized this a week later, when a friend spontaneously took me to a pop-up exhibition of van Gogh in London. After this experience, I added a verse and changed the melody slightly. This song talks about the sacrifices we make for our art, as well as the constant search for tangible passion to chase away the dark sides of the mind. (This Video and creative Concept is completely self-made)

THE SUNFLOWER (Portrayed by me - Sora X) Emotions blooming like a flower field; have you ever looked at someone's face, after they were finally released from pain? The pure expression, uncontrolled and open, describes her best. The Sunflower is both the heart and the face of you - turning towards the sun, hoping and dreaming for a better life or world. Without the compassion and care of The Painter and The Butterfly, she'll lose her focus and forget the warmth she felt while looking up.
THE BUTTERFLY (portrayed by Model Mathilda Frotscher) Dreaming of a thought, The Butterfly moves away quickly, representing fleeting inspiration. A dream of a future that makes you want to jump up and create - project drive, charisma and express yourself in every way. Just like that, it flies away - you are left with an empty canvas and a forgotten path.
THE PAINTER (portrayed by Illustrater Mahla Bess) Embodying life itself, The Painter is always in search of something that lights you up. The Painters weather is heavily affected by others, but he is in the end, the only one responsible for the choices that were made. The Painter needs The Sunflower to bloom to transport emotion and enjoy life. The Painter needs the butterfly to lift his thoughts from the ground and inspire genius. It is a delicate balancing act.
