New World Explorer

New World Explorer has been created to highlight to parents possible signs of dyslexia in their children. The research for this project identified that parents spend the most amount of quality time with their children and are, therefore, best placed to notice any neuro-diversities but are often unsure of how to help. Screening tools are important as undiagnosed children are more likely to be bullied if they have difficulties, as well as becoming frustrated and feeling stupid. With products like this, children can regain an interest in learning, have greater self-perception and self-confidence and, most importantly, get any help they may need. New World Explorer is a 21st Century game that aides parents to understand if further testing is advisable, while allowing children to participate in an entertaining game. While the aim of this product, for the child, is to offer an engaging, competitive, age-appropriate board game, with designs creating an enticing aesthetic as shown in the images below. The game has an immediate positive impact on the child as it allows the completion of an otherwise boring and stressful test, in a fun and exciting way, which will help guide them to the correct support. The app is a integral part of the product as it not only helps children engage for longer in the product and allows them to track game progression but also allows an app to compile an easy to read report for parents automatically once the game is completed.
