Penguin Book Cover Design Competition 2019 Adult Fiction: Norwegian Wood - Haruki Murakami The final design is inspired by the entire quote in different directions before, so it connects to the theme of the book. Especially “Only the dead stay seventeen forever.” and “People leave strange little memories of themselves behind when they die.” The design has two hidden infinity signs to suggest two fading characters. It also reflects Japanese style via the circle and Japanese ink-like brush typography.
