NUBY Art Direction

  • Rachel Huck
I was taken in for two weeks by a lovely agency in Newcastle called Everything Different. I followed the creative team as they executed briefs and did some ideation while studying what makes them tic.
The Brief
Background:
Nuby is a fun-loving baby product brand, looking to dominate a market full of ‘caregiver’ brands. They use innovation to create products that help make parents and babies lives easier, to help make raising a little one more enjoyable.
Product:
Thirsty Kids cup range:
Made of Tritan so it’s extra durable and clear, helping parents keep track on how much water their child is drinking.
The cap is easy to close and germ free
When cap is closed, liquid doesn't spill
Baby teeth - friendly
Easy to hold for kids
Requirements:
a campaign idea to launch the thirsty kids cup range, making our products the main heroes.
3 X prints Ads to bring the idea to life
1 X social idea
The story board is for the commercial element to the campaign. The story follows a new father as he tells a safari story to his newborn. The sarfari story would be animated while the reality part of the commercial were filmed.
The strapline for the commercial is "Make drink time story time". The goal of this advert is to show the bonding of parents with their children through NUBY products. By using the Nuby cups as inspiration for storytime, parents can get creative and playful with their children.
The idea behind all the posters is to have an imagination sequence from the parent where they are looking at the NUBY Cup and are inspired to tell a story. Each poster has a different style cup to show the multiple ranges of NUBY Thirsty kid cups. The posters also show quality time parents spend with their children and how NUBY cups can facilitate that.
As NUBY already has connections to family based influencers on Facebook and Instagram, the social media element should start with those influencers. Each influencer will post a pic of their kids wearing safari hats and holding their NUBY cups to promote the commercial of the safari baby.
