NUDA a tribute to Francesca Woodman

Pavart gallery opened in may 2023 the art exhibition “NUDA”, a tribute to the iconic American photographer Francesca Woodman, from whom the artist Barbara Lo Faro has always been fascinated. The curator Velia Littera, who has been following this talented artist for several years, offered the public an interesting and stimulating artistic experience. Throughout history, women have been the subject to an artistic and cultural representation mainly through a masculine look so this exhibition wants to overturn this concept and put in the foreground the representation of women seen from a female perspective. The exhibition of the Roman artist Barbara Lo Faro consisted in acrylic paintings, watercolours and sketches evoking the fragility and strength of the female body, exploring the evanescence and the temporary condition of human existence. In "NUDA", Lo Faro captures the ephemeral essence of being with delicate and expertly superimposed brushstrokes. Her paintings emphasize the fleeting nature of existence and the desire to preserve beauty in an instant suspended in time. The exhibition invited visitors to immerse themselves in an intense dialogue between Barbara Lo Faro’s sensibility and Francesca Woodman from whom she was inspired. She has so celebrated the talent and the search for beauty in its most authentic expression. Barbara Lo Faro has focused on the theme of identity, femininity and intimacy in her art.
