OLÉ - A CHEF RESTAURANT

  • Ryan Lev Ari

THE DESIGN OF OLÉ IS INSPIRED BY CONNECTIONS - THE CONNECTION BETWEEN OLD AND NEW, BETWEEN MODERN AND CLASSIC, AND ON THE CONNECTION BETWEEN THE HIGHLY CONTRASTING NEIGHBOURHOODS OF GENTEEL, QUAINT IN ONE END AND IN THE OTHER ENDTHE ADJACENT RAW, AND BOHEMIAN. AT THE HEART OF THE DESIGN IS THE HISTORIC TEMPLAR BUILDING WHICH HOUSES THE RESTAURANT - A STRONG POETIC BUILDING, ITS SILENT STORIES STREAM TO AND FROM ANOTHER WORLD, INSPIRING MY DESIGN. THE WAY I SEE IT, BUILDINGS AND THEIR ARCHITECTURE ARE LIVING, BREATHING CREATURES, IMPARTING THEIR HISTORIES, PROVIDING INSPIRATION TO DESIGNERS TASKED WITH THEIR RENOVATION AND REDESIGN FOR A NEW ERA. AS WINSTON CHURCHILL ONCE SAID: “WE SHAPE OUR BUILDINGS, AND AFTERWARDS OUR BUILDINGS SHAPE US.”
