Open Up - Create Against Hate Facebook Business Challenge

The Challenge, sponsored by Facebook, invited universities across the UK to take action on tackling hate crimes online. In an era of Trump, Brexit and conflict, hate speech is becoming more and more prevalent in our society. Through the use of negative stereotyping and media influence, we are often quick to label people and as a result are afraid to integrate with people who are different than us. Our group organised an open invitation lunch that urged people to engage in conversations with diverse persons about experiences of hate speech, coming together as a community over a culturally diverse feast.
