ORIENTALISM

  • Marco Melileo
I created a man/woman collection that focuses on the crossover between martial arts clothing and the uniforms of the workers of vintage railways.
"The shapes and silhouettes of my collection are influenced by the vintage workwear from the 50s - 50s from work and from the large elements of the uniform Karate Gi/Kendo"
"A series of Japanese patchwork techniques and stitch lines are incorporated into some details such as the obi belt, collars and quilts of the cuffs and hems.
The colors for the entire collection derive from the study of vintage denim work clothes. While the colors of the obi belt represent the different level of martial arts skills."
