Origami Shadows

  • George Eccles

This series was part of my first brief in my first year at NUA. We were tasked with choosing from a list of binary concepts or creating our own. As I am drawn more to technical aspects than theory or social commentary, I pursued the key idea of using light and shadows to present a subject which I combined with my interest in Origami. Using the work of early 20th-century photographer Francis Bruguière as my starting point I developed this work by experimenting and researching, particularly Chiaroscuro paintings along with the work of photographers; Lol Keegan, Nori Inuguchi, Shenyi Wang & Howard Lewis.
