~ When a young actress goes to a secluded house to immerse herself in a challenging role, she begins to unravel. ~ A young actress arrives at a secluded country house to immerse herself in a challenging role, for a film adaptation of "Wide Sargasso Sea." In embodying the main character, the actress begins having strange dreams in which she is walking barefoot through a forest, and wakes up with ash on her hands. As she gets deeper into the role, the dreams intensify, and her forest walks lead her to a mysterious bonfire in the woods. With her director pressurising her to stay at the house on her own - or else he will give the role to someone else - the actress is manipulated into risking her sanity for the part. As the demands of the role cause her mental stability to deteriorate, the actress is soon led into a dangerous confrontation with herself.
