Out Looking In Exhibition 001

This is just a couple of pictures to show the first exhibition I put on at Stage and Radio in Manchester showcasing ethnic minority and POC women and non binary photographers.

The photo above is my work, the blurb writes:

I wanted to show something different to the normal portraits. I wanted to show how it started I suppose, how it progressed. I have been taking photos of friends for nearly 10 years now, almost a decade of little snap shots of friends at parties, on holidays, in the house, in clubs. Originally I used to get all the photos printed as well as digitally and I do have an archive of maybe 800 photos in albums back home so I wanted to show these photos in their raw and original format of when I started doing this.

Being Indian, I was never taught to pursue my creative side growing up. It was always meant to be a side hustle and it was something I never thought could end up in paid work. There was no head start in the creative sector with family members having a creative job or being able to pass down cameras so to learn a craft thinking it was just a hobby made it almost all the more enjoyable and I am still learning every day.

This is a collection of new and old spanning over 10 years. A collection that will only keep growing.
