‘Dip inside the pool’ is a publication journey of four speakers – June Smithson, Peter Chadwick, Ian Carr and Gill Brown, and their practise. The purpose of this issue is not to define the fine line that exists between the professional and academic context. It is to draw on the fact that both emerge from the same pool. This publication addresses the relation between academic and professional design practise. It is an exploration into the shared ideals and concepts that state the nature of these practises.
