Parcel (2021)

Parcel is a 1-minute short film exploring the ways in which mindsets changed within the new normal of the COVID pandemic towards the everyday of online shopping. Through its use of repeated images and commentary, Parcel morphs the way in which we look at the seemingly mundane; instead seeing something far more interesting than meets the eye. This short was inspired by Steve McQueen’s Deadpan and co-created with Richard Lipman. This was my first time being responsible for purely the sound within a project. I created the soundscape through interviews with friends and family spliced with sounds of the outside to give these images a new meaning. It was also my first experience creating a short film from concept to completion within one afternoon, which was a fun and interesting challenge that pushed me creatively.
