Close friend and esteemed bar-operator Joseph van der Heide contacted me with a vision to create a '1920's true blue Australia' feel bar with a contemporary slant.
The resulting identity draws on elements from that era – hand-lettered logotype, halftone imagery and etched illustrations – and juxtaposes them with a bold electric blue to give the bar its necessary edge. The project consisted of an identity, website, menus, business cards, coasters and hand-painted signage.
