Pekoe Mellow Tea Cafe

This individual project involved coming up with a brand new concept for a new Sri Lankan inspired tea shop in Hammersmith, London. The colour palette is based on natural, raw and earthy tones that reflect the colours of brewed tea and the leaves in their most natural form. The browns, woods, and oranges in this colour family are warm and inviting, bringing together the vision of the space as a ‘hub’ or simply as a place to pause and unwind/reenergise. Subtle notes of fresh pastel mints and salmons brighten the space and textures are a mix of warm timbers, whites and light mottled concrete that evoke a sense of calm. The main feature wall consists of a floor to ceiling shelving display with ladder which showcases the different teas in airtight, cylindrical glass tubes, encouraging the public to see, smell and interact.
