Animal Farm is an allegorical novella by George Orwell. According to Orwell, the book reflects events leading up to the Russian Revolution of 1917 and then on into the Stalinist era of the Soviet Union.
This cover of Animal Farm was inspired by the satirical theme of the book. It also heavily references the Russian Revolution and in particular, Stalin.
The image was designed to represent the animals on the farm being constrained by the pigs and how, despite all the animals being equal, some are more equal than others.
