Penguin Student Design: Non-Fiction Cover Entry 2021

This design was created as a part of the 2021 Penguin Design Award for the Adult Non-Fiction entry. The brief for this cover was to create something engaging to a wide target audience, which would encapsulate the idea of the book immediately. A wet floor sign is something people immediately understand, when seeing it they immediately know something is wrong and take caution. The idea here was to use the sign and, instead of warning people about a wet floor, to warn them about the rising sea levels by redesigning the sign, such as by changing the pictogram on the front to reflect this.
