People and places of South America

  • LEON NIKOOSIMAITAK

In December last year, I took some time out to explore South America. It was my tenth year freelancing in London and I wanted to take a break. Over the years I have been travelling a lot and I think it is a really important part of developing as a person. You get to see so much and enrich your personality and your views of the World. It is a great way of inspiring you and bringing back a different perspective on your life and work. My aim for this trip was to make a study of the People and Places of South America. To really take the time to observe their culture and documenting it through illustration.

Since returning, I have made a book which I would like to try and self publish. I have created a
Kickstarter campaign that is now live, heres the link: kck.st/2YetJfC
While travelling, I explored places from Peru, Bolivia, Chile, Argentina and then over to Brazil. These were some incredible times and I got to absorb all these wonderful places and capture them through illustration.
In the kickstarter campaign, there is an opportunity to support the print production and receive the book, posters and stickers which I will have made once the campaign has completed. The proceeds will go towards the production as well as further supporting the possibility of having an illustrated encyclopedia of World.

This illustration is the city of La Paz in Bolivia where I managed to get a high-up view of the busy city.
There is a chance to receive some really nice illustrated content from my kickstarter campaign. It would be great if you could support and make a pledge. Along with the printing, I will be hosting an event in London in September, (date to be confirmed). This will be at Yonder, a climbing centre in Black Horse road. There will be music and an interactive art installation.
