'Personal' Magazine

  • Simone Pierson

We all have a human body and yet our experiences in our bodies are vastly different. Lifestyle magazines are notorious for touting an unrealistic and homogenous beauty ideal that leaves many wondering what they’re doing wrong if their body is any different. By looking critically at our unconscious biases and why we view our bodies in the way that we do, Personal Magazine invites readers to view their bodies in a new way. It’s content ranges from historical articles to personal essays and striking photography with each issue diving deeply into a specific part of the body. This first issue focuses on the topic of hair.
