From December on, Brussels Airlines will serve meals made by Peter Goossens from the restaurant Hof van Cleve in its Business Class (Kruishoutem, Belgium). With this partnership, the airline wants to keep being a flying representative of Belgium. The meals will be served on flights from Europe to the US and from Africa to Europe.

The chef at restaurant Hof van Cleve has come up with six different menus that show off the best of Belgian cuisine to Brussels Airlines' customers from all over the world. Peter Goossens has mostly chosen seasonal and local ingredients and added a Belgian touch to them.

We've tried to make menus that make you feel like you're in a restaurant at 30,000 feet. It wasn't easy, since there are many rules about what you can eat on an aeroplane, but I'm happy with how it turned out. "Working on this project with Brussels Airlines was a one-of-a-kind experience, and I can't wait to hear what their passengers think," says Peter Goossens.

We are very proud to be able to serve Peter Goossens's dishes on our Cheap Brussels airlines flight tickets holders between continents. We want to give our Business Class guests a first-class experience and also show that we are Belgian. "Peter's menus are a great way to show off the best of Belgian food," says Anne Tricot, Vice President of Customer Experience at Brussels Airlines.

Before Peter Goossens, two of the five chefs who have made meals for Brussels Airlines were Geert Van Hecke (Karmeliet) and Pierre Résimont (L'Eau Vive).

The chef also chose six beers from his area, like Steenuilke from Brouwerij De Ryck and Malheur from Brouwerij De Landtsheer, to go with his meals. Brussels Airlines has wanted to be a flying representative of Belgium for a long time. The airline serves a wide range of Belgian beers and wines on its flights. Passengers can also try Belgian pralines and cheese from Antwerp's famous Cheese Refiners Van Tricht.

Peter Goossens's history with Hof van Cleve is long and complicated. He opened the restaurant in 1992, and he got his first Michelin star just two years later. In the meantime, the restaurant now has no less than three stars, which shows how good the food is. The chef is also well-known to Flemish people because he has been a judge on the TV shows "My Restaurant" and "De Beste Hobbykok van Vlaanderen." Last July, "WBPStars," the younger brother of "World's 50 Best," put out a list of the 60 best restaurants in the world. Hof van Cleve is tied for first place on that list.
