Phantom X Think With Google

Think with Google is the go-to website for the latest consumer trends and market research. Phantom worked with the EMEA marketing team to completely redesign and build the site at the end of 2014.  Although the site already existed, we started this project as if we were starting from scratch and completely reworked the UX and IA of the site to create a simpler and more natural journey for the user. We also completed in-person user research throughout the design phase of the project to deep dive into what they required most from the site. I was employed by Phantom during the execution phase of this project, but prior to Phantom, I was working at Google (the client). So when delegating projects I was often working with on Google related projects as I was familiar with the brand and its guidelines. Client: Google Project: Website Relaunch

When thinking about the design, Phantom decided to take into consideration Google’s new material design approach at the time and used cards to display and promote content to work with the clean lines throughout the website.
At the time when Phantom were working on this, material design guidelines had only been released for apps and so they were one of the first teams to adapt this to website design.
The Think With Google site was then used as an example of how to do this during this transition period.
