Philippines National Heroes Day Campaign

I was commissioned to create a piece of art to express what heroism and patriotism means to me. I titled my piece 'Ugat' meaning roots, painting both my Ina (grandmother) and my sister. My piece symbolises never forgetting your roots: the traditions and the culture passed on to us from the older generation we have to not only remember but also be proud of and share with others. We as the younger generation who control the future must remember where we came from and water the roots to keep our culture and traditions going.
