Place to belong, am I coming home?

Through 3 different generations, we asked how the integration in the Netherland was for their families and what is their opinion on the progress of the Indo identity and how much can be preserved of their identity. What was the reason that the Indo integration in the Netherlands seems to be so smooth? How did the Indo people influence the fact that the Buitenkampers became a forgotten past of Dutch history? Another question this documentary is touching, what it means to you having mixed-blood, is in such a way relative nowadays that we are trying to find the connection between having mixed-blood and an is. To answer these questions we asked 5 different families and out of them, we got different stories and different opinions on our topic. Because of the ongoing situation with refugees, we want to highlight the indo integration. We often forget that it is not only about coming to a new country to have a better life, but also the struggle with finding the balance between adjusting to their values and rules and to still be able to keep your own cultural background.
