Plantasia (2022)

*UPDATE* I'm excited to announce Plantasia has found it's home on Sofy.TV, a fantastic short film streaming service. Plantasia has also won the Special Mention award at the One-Reeler Film Festival, and premiered on the U.K. TV channels: 'Latest TV' (Brighton), 'NVTV' (Belfast), 'Sheffield, Live!' (Sheffield) and 'KMTV' (Kent) in addition to an official selection at the Lift-Off Global Filmmakers Festival in 2023. Synopsis: A house plant becomes sentient and questions it’s existence on earth. The concept for Plantasia was born during the 2020 lockdown therefore some of the film's themes demonstrate the claustrophobia of being alive but to only exist. My film discusses how we may not know the value of what we have until it's taken away from us, for example safety and comfortability. Sometimes it takes a third party or an unknown force of nature to reveal our purpose to us, or more specifically guide our eyes to see for ourselves the reason we are who we are and the, often overlooked, positive impact we can have on the people around us.
