Plastic Free Peckham talks recycling, PPE, the climate... and how best to take action!

  • Alli Albion

Plastic Free Peckham is one of the Surfers For Sewage ‘Plastic Free Communities’ - A volunteer-run program with 731 communities across the UK. As well as running events, they work with businesses, local councils, community partners and schools to evaluate their environmental impact and find viable solutions. I caught up with Community Leader, Laura, who, after seeing increasing numbers of articles about plastic pollution decided it was time to take action, not only for her own family, but for the entire community around her. Laura now dedicates most of her time around family life and her job in the product design industry to Plastic Free Peckham and to championing positive environmental change. We discuss plastic pollution, recycling, PPE, the climate and plenty of useful tips for living more sustainably. This was a piece for Community Bridges magazine and you can read it, here: https://www.communitybridges.co.uk/post/plastic-free-peckham-talk-recycling-climate-ppe-and-how-best-to-take-action Illustrations by Frankie Albion.
