PO!

PO! the AR Filter and video project made in collaboration with fashion designer Po-Chieh Chiu. Part of Po’s graduate collection alongside structural trousers and jackets inspired by his time serving in the military included a balaclava like face mask adorned with plastic flowers, which changes its colour when worn in the dark. For the debut of his collection we worked together on a launch plan and created an Instagram filter using the tool Spark AR.  The filter can be used via Instagram and began a series of interactions with Po’s work and resulted in the video created using footage of Po interacting with the virtual mask. The concept for the filter came from the debilitating nature of Covid and the issues surrounding interacting with people let alone garments.  The filter can change from dark to light mode in a simple tap and has been used as a staple and visual symbol for PO’s AW/20 graduate diploma collection from Central St.Martins.
