Pop Up Festival 2017 Magazine

  • Sarah Garmston

The Pop Up Festival is a children’s literature festival that brings literature to life in schools across the UK. In 2017, 15,000 school children aged 3-14 took part in the festival, which brings authors and illustrators to schools for workshops, visual storytelling experiences, and creative writing. To go alongside the festival, the magazine gives snippets into what activities children will do during the festival, and gives the full programme and schedule details inside. Each spread visualises the story or extract that authors provided, or gave children interactive activities to do whilst reading through the magazine. The magazine was 52 pages printed on uncoated paper. Design work included layouts, typesetting, proofreading, and internal illustrations.
