Porcelain Jar Nightlight

‘Like a moth to a flame’. Beautiful porcelain nightlights by Suffolk ceramicist Steven James Will. Each porcelain nightlight is cast from a Victorian jam jar, (found in a local badger's sett!) and hand-scribed by Steven with the common names of moths - such as Chamomile Shark, Sallow Kitten & Toadflax Brocade. There are over 900 species of macro moths in the UK, many with evocatively romantic names. Each jar has about 50 names carved around its outside which are illuminated with the flame of a tealight. At the back of each jar is a thoughtfully cut hole towards the bottom to enable easy access to lighting the tealight. The nightlights are exclusive collaboration with Steven James Will and The Merchant’s Table. Steven has made a limited edition of only 20 jars which we are selling in the shop on Church Street, Woodbridge and here on our online shop.
