Studying Visual Communications teaches you the importance of the journey between the client and the audience, a vital skill to have when forming a meaningful and lasting connection between an image and its viewer. I'm repeatedly inspired by seeing how art can change the livelihood of an individual for the better. In a world that is currently turned on its head, it’s rewarding to be part of a field that can actively do something about it. Although I studied a design degree, much of my work was integrated with my passion for photography and publication, which enriched my sense of art direction and visual ideologies. I have a keen eye for editorial, art direction and portraiture, combining these for my final major project, where I photographically investigated the lives of dislocated refugees living in the city. The project has since been nominated for a 2020 Creative Conscience Award.
