The Death of the Duke of Brunswick
A depiction of the dukes death at the battle of Quatre Bras, prelude to Waterloo in 1815. The painting is in watercolour and is an attempt to visualise as accurately as possible the scene at the time using much historical and eyewitness accounts.
Night March
This watercolour painting shows a wet and bedraggled officer of the 44th foot taking orders from a dapper Coldstream Guards officer. The contrast between their appearance is vivid. The officer must lead his men again through the stormy night towards Mont St. Jean, near a village called Waterloo.
In Reflection
A proposed illustration for the book 'The Vesrions of us' The main charator 'Jim' is reflected in the eye of 'Helena'. The reflection being the roads taken in life, the decisions made and the outcomes.
Burning Bright
A proposed watercolour painting to accompany the poem by William Blake 'The Tyger' published in 1794
Oradour
A depiction of the SS atrocity in Oradour-sur-Glane, Normandy 1944. This watercolour became the cover artwork for a Pen & Sword Battleground book titled 'Oradour Massacre Aftermath' by Philip Beck. Influence came from the Sven Hassle series of paperbacks
