Portrait of a Village - Short Film

  • Catherine Losing
  • Lindsay Watson

I made this film in the village my family had to leave in the 1940s. It began as an exploration of my feelings about being British with a Grandfather who fought for the nazis and a recent revelation that I have Jewish ancestors. It ended up being a celebration of the wonderful Ukrainian villagers who replaced my Black Sea German relatives.  Directed And Filmed By Catherine Losing  Editor - Lindsay Watson  Sound Design - Matt Waites  Location Sound - Ben Walker  Grade - Peter Oppersdorff, MPC London  In Association With The Museum of Odessa Art and British Council Ukraine  Special Thanks To: Natalia Revko  Vova Chigrinets  Tsybulivka School
