Portraits at the Barbican

  • Georgette Mason

*pre-COVID-19* Some beautiful portraits I took of Money (@mrmoneywang) and Thanarat (@asvasi_) around the Barbican.

Looking back at these photos during the pandemic has given them a different meaning. At the time I wanted them to look disconnected but disconnected together - and I guess that's also how we've been living for the past couple of months. Isolated, but isolated and alone together.

I've always been really interested in brutalist architecture around London too. Though you can't see much of it in these photos, as a backdrop, I think the colours helped lift the more saturated colours in Money and Thanarat's clothes.

I can't wait to be allowed out more to take more photographs of London and it's extraordinary people and buildings.
