Positive Fashion- Visual Identity

  • Allyssia Marchant-Hall

This is a self-initiated project to rebrand Positive Fashion, a platform designed to celebrate industry best practice and encourage future business decisions to develop positive change in the fashion industry. I wanted to focus on sustainable materials to promote positive change in the fashion industry and educate new designers on some of the futuristic materials that are much kinder to the planet. Pinatex, Hemp, Bamboo and Organic cotton are the sustainable materials I have focussed on, they are all materials that are far more durable than ones currently used. Using the materials that are sustainable goes on to impact and further equals fashion becoming a much more positive outlet, designers beginning to think about the materials and resources they use in creating pieces will go on to equal Positive Fashion. Symbols (+,=) being used throughout the design are a way of signposting what using these specific materials together can equate to. The typeface was inspired by geometric type as it has a futuristic style, emphasising that sustainability is the future of fashion.

Instagram

I created a template for Instagram to show the elements of the brand working together combining the type with photography.
Social media advert

A short animation was created to promote sustainable choices in the fashion industry, on Instagram and other social media platforms. It educates the public on a selection of sustainable materials, giving information on where they have come from and what they are made of. I have used the (+,-) symbols to represent this visually.
