This self-initiated project documents the experience I had of seeing Preludes, live at Southwark Playhouse. The show explores the struggle of creativity, imposter syndrome and accepting failure. Duality is a key concept in the show, interpreted through duotone images. The enchanting choreography and beautiful lighting design were also prevalant, so were highlighted wherever possible. The lyrics are typeset to express the rhythm and tone of each one within the confines of letterpress. Experimental text layouts are used to compliment the composition of the images. The publication is bound as a french fold, hiding a psychedelic halftone pattern inside the page folds to visualise the hypnosis of the main character. It is also a reflection of the internal and external representation of the character, who is shared by two actors throughout the show.
