Pretty in Pink Editorial

Why is the colour pink such a relevant term nowadays? I am here to express my femininity, I am a woman in my early twenties and I want to take the colour pink back and own it confidently.
When talking about feminism, so many women get backlashed by the community and then are restricted by various different ideals and assumptions. I found the topic of the colour pink one of them as this idea that feminists shouldn’t wear pink was brought up in a conversation amongst friends. One of my male friends stated, “Women make such a big deal about equal rights and being a feminist, but you can’t have your cake and eat it too. You can’t expect to be feminine, sensitive and still be treated like one of the guys.” Well, hold on a second… says who?!
I can’t speak for every woman, but for me, pink sends a comforting message. It’s a colour that brings confidence, awareness, strength and courage. It is a statement colour. A reminder that we can be feminine and sensitive, and though we may have to fight for what we want to achieve, we can still achieve it while looking fabulous.
