Southall is a rapidly changing town, with a population belonging to many ethnicities, nationalities, and social behaviors. What was once a local shop and chat spot has now transformed into a busy bustling economic market for those looking to buy a little Asian culture and snack on some Greggs breakfast wrap at the same time. Though infamous magic corn stands manage to still position themselves on street corners, local bazaars and independent shops are under threat from the growing number of fast-food chains, banks, and franchise stores that are trying to squeeze into the broadway strip. I met up with Parmjeet Kaur in Southall for a small shoot and chat about her experiences of growing up in the area throughout her childhood.
